Natalie J. Tellez, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She joined the Hauser Clinic in 2019 after 10 years in a private group practice. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2010. Natalie was chosen as the first nurse intern in the history of The Menninger Clinic and trained in the COMPAS, Professionals in Crisis, Adolescent, OCD and Eating Disorders Programs. She also trained at The Methodist Hospital, River Oaks Hospital, and St. Joseph Medical Center. Although, she has an extensive background in inpatient and residential psychiatric care, Natalie has found her niche in helping everyday adults to cope with mental health conditions in an outpatient setting. Her patients are the center of her practice. With a comprehensive, integrative and holistic approach, she strives to assist individuals to achieve their fullest potential. Her clients quickly appreciate that she is genuinely interested in getting to know them and in forming a therapeutic partnership that is foundational to improving mental and emotional wellbeing.

Natalie provides diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy for mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and ADHD. She also has a special interest in working with the LGBTQA community, pregnant and postpartum women, and treatment-refractory mood disorders. Natalie utilizes pharmacogenomics testing to aid in medication management and provides referrals to other services as needed, such as, specialized psychotherapies, TMS, ECT, neuropsychological testing, etc. She also offers clients options of traditional in-office and/or telepsychiatry visits.

Natalie continually seeks new and collaborative learning opportunities, keeps up with current research that supports the work she does with clients. She is a national speaker educating other healthcare providers on psychopharmacology and the public on mental health awareness issues. Her goal is to help decrease the negative stigma that so many in today’s society place on mental health conditions.

Natalie is Board Certified as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses Association and was selected to the Latino American Who’s Who from 2011-2019 and Top Nurse in Houston by the International Nurses Association in 2018 & 2019.
